Performance belongs to the assembly
Steel does not burn, but its mechanical properties change at high temperatures. Wall and floor fire resistance depend on linings, connections, loading and penetrations, not on one board’s classification alone.
Protect the details
Board layers, joints and fixings must follow the specified system. Service penetrations, access panels and cavities need suitable protection. Façade cavity barriers must be coordinated with drainage and ventilation.
Control exposure
Galvanising does not remove the need to manage water. Dry storage, substrate separation, compatible fixings and appropriate treatment of damage matter. Coastal, industrial or persistently damp sites require a specific exposure assessment.
