Three different tasks
The roof and façade shed rain. Vapour-control layers regulate diffusion. The airtight layer limits air flowing through the assembly. One product can perform several roles only where the design and detailing support this.
Continuous connections
Laps, corners, windows and service penetrations must connect. A service void can reduce punctures in sensitive layers. Materials and substrates must be suitable for enclosure before linings are installed.
Design for drying
Layer position and vapour resistance depend on climate, humidity, heating, cooling and drying potential. The same vapour barrier is not appropriate everywhere. Assembly assessment and installation checks work together.
